Summary

It’s a real individual sport but we have a great atmosphere here. We have a great team, a real good bunch, nice kids, very friendly with each other.

They understand that boxing’s a sport and that they compete with each other and they need the competition to push them on.

It’s proven in the past that if you have one boxer at a weight they don’t appear to be as on it as the other boxers who are competing with boxers almost as good as them at their weight.

So you need to create the competition and the pressure but we have a great team, and they get along with each other, they respect each other and they work alongside each other and obviously they want to get picked for any major tournament, that’s coming up and that’s their job is to prove it by being successful in tournaments.

All of these major tournaments are very tough, other countries are very strong as well, but you know we’ve worked hard over the last couple of years, the boxers have worked really well, the coaches, the support staff, and everyone’s worked hard.

We’ve achieved tremendous results which are really promising and we want to win as many medals as possible. We‘ve got a great team, great boxers. GB boxing’s on the up and it’s doing great and I’m sure we’ll have got a great future.
