Kell Brook justified the faith shown in him with a comfortable fifth-round stoppage of Puerto Rican, Luis Galarza.
Fighting on the undercard of Carl Froch-Andre Ward in Atlantic City, Brook was keen to impress on his US debut and attract a new fan base.
Brook didn’t disappoint.
In a one sided contest , the unbeaten 25 year old welterweight from Sheffield stated his intent from the first bell landing some early blows while taking the occasional shot for his trouble.
As the fight progressed, Brook began to pick his shots with intelligence and power, pushing Galarza onto the offensive.

In the fifth, Galarza was physically shaken by a stiff right, which was followed up with a stirring hook and right combination. Retreating to the ropes, Galarza was dazed and offered nothing in return forcing the referee to step in after 1 minute and 38 seconds.
"Boxing fans all around the world are watching this, and I've hit a new audience now," Brook said. "They've just seen a good performance from me, but I can and will be giving them more in 2012. There's no rush to a world title. It's about being brought on at the right place, and I trust Eddie Hearn and the team to get me there the right way. I've only a matter of time."
